The New Hope School of Ministries (NHSM) was created by Pastor Grant Thigpen as a way to fulfill New Hope Ministries’ mission of equipping believers to dive deeper into their study of God’s Word. Since its inception, NHSM has been a life-changing experience for attendees, offering in-depth studies on faith, Christian living, prayer, and practical Bible study.
Students complete the nine-month program by attending two classes per week, gaining a rich foundation in both theology and practical application. First-year classes include topics such as How to Study the Bible, Sound Doctrine, Prayer, the Holy Spirit, Faith, New and Old Testament Surveys, Romans, Covenants, Biblical Feasts, Evangelism, and Leadership.
In 2018, NHSM introduced a Second-Year program that delves even deeper into the Word. This program includes studies on Missions, Types and Shadows, The Book of Hebrews, Leadership, Christian Integrity, and The Book of Revelation. Second-Year classes meet on Monday nights.
Impact Stories
Gwen Brown, NHSM Director and a graduate of the very first class in 1991, shares the profound impact of the program:
“After those nine months, I knew the Word better and had a closer relationship with the Lord. What I’m doing today is directly because of the foundation placed in me that year.”
A recent graduate echoes this sentiment:
“Everything in life has a start and an end. We don’t want to ever ‘graduate,’ but to take it and make it a lifestyle.”
Open to All
NHSM is open to anyone 18 and older, and students from other churches are warmly invited to participate. Flexible options are available, allowing students to take classes part-time or spread them out over multiple years.
While there is a cost to attend, financial aid and other considerations are available to ensure that money is never a barrier for those who sincerely desire to grow in their faith.
Come discover how NHSM can deepen your understanding of God’s Word and equip you for a lifetime of faith and ministry.
